Mrs. Cori C. Wrobel

With heavy hearts the daughters of Cori Wrobel announce her peaceful passing on December 4, 2018 at the age of 79. By her side were her two devoted daughters.  Cori, a wife, mother, nana and devoted friend to many, was married for 56 years. She is survived by her Daughter, Dawn (Tom Koester), Daughter, Carri (Joe Lux) and Grandchildren Christopher & Jillian Koester, and Jeffery Lux. She was admired for her positive outlook on life, high standards, intellectual curiosity, insightfulness of others, generosity, devotion to the field of education, those less fortunate, her friends and most importantly her family. Born in Manhattan, NY. She graduated from Long Beach High School, 1957 where she had such fond childhood memories of growing up near the ocean, meeting her husband Don and making lifelong friends that she kept up with until the end. Cori was most proud of the work that she accomplished in the field of education. She obtained her B.A. in education from Whittier College in California, 1961. 1961-1963- Freeport, NY-Public School District, Second Grade teacher. 1978-1985- Mineola, NY-Nassau County Boys Shelter, High School English teacher. 1986- 1997 Hempstead, NY-Public School District, Pre- K teacher. In retirement Cori volunteered as a reading tutor in the St. Petersburgh, FL. School district. Cori was a resident of Garden City, NY for 30 years, resident of Williamsburg, VA for 12 years and was currently living in St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, Cori would appreciate donations made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital & American Heart Association
